Benefits

"The home-based approach affords flexibility that cannot be duplicated elsewhere." -Sarah- Minneapolis, MN

Family Chatterbox was built on one simple belief, the belief that the best place for a child to receive speech therapy is in their own environment, where they are most comfortable, and where they live their everyday life. We believe doing therapy in the child's home is a game changer. Below you will find what some families have said about specifically receiving therapy in the home along with additional benefits of doing therapy in the home.

"Having the therapy sessions conducted in our home was the key to our son's success. So grateful they employ this method! We cannot thank Kasey and Family Chatterbox enough for what she has done for our son!" Beth - Richfield, MN

  •  Ability to include the family: We include the family in every session.  Being able to show the family and have them practice what it is that we are working on and doing right then and there in the middle of the session with feedback and coaching from the therapists makes a huge difference.

  •  Confidence: Having therapy in a place in which the kiddos are already comfortable gives them more confidence, buy-in, and willingness to do and try new things to help with their speech and language.

  • Ability to Incorporate What You Have and Use Everyday: When therapy is done in your home, we can incorporate pictures of your own things, rooms, and toys for visual schedules, along with being able to play with their siblings and go to real life places like the beach, get a haircut, or go to the park.

  • Real Life Words and Practice:  When we come to you, we aren’t working on hypothetical words with articulation sheets and cards, rather we are using their sounds in ways that they will do each and everyday. We have the ability do play dates and practice hard routines in their own home like brushing teeth, going potty, or eating. We are able to incorporate speech and language into their real life everyday situations.

  • Less Restrictive: Doing therapy in the home means that we do not have to play by the clinic or insurances rules.  We can focus on the immediate needs of the child and help them to be a more functional communicator right here and now. We are not limited to “this is what the test says I need to work on next”, but rather we can focus on what they are still having difficulties with and help them in the next area of need.

"In just a short two months we have seen huge progress with our son! This is also a more affordable option for us in getting him extra support" Jennifer - Burnsville, MN

  • Saves Time and Money In The Long run: Our kiddos across the board are progressing 3 to 4 times faster than they typically do in a clinical setting. We often see progress in our kiddos in 3 to 4 months that typically takes 9 to 12 months to accomplish in a clinic. Our goal is to hit is hard, be consistent, have therapy every week,  and make big breakthroughs every single week. Then we are able to graduate our kiddos from therapy quicker then they ever could in a clinical setting. In doing so, rather than being in therapy for 12 to 24 months, you are in and out in a much shorter period of time, saving the family an incredible amount of time and money.

  • You Are Our Top Priority: When you allow us to come into your home, we strive to give you the best therapy possible. We are committed to always providing individualized 1:1 therapy for a minimum of 60 minutes. We provide any tools that may be necessary and we will always go the extra mile to meet your child where they are at.

There truly are a million reasons and benefits of doing therapy in the home. Simply put however, it just works, it makes so much more sense, and it leads to incredible progress in a shorter amount of time.
